Twitter is a hot topic these days.

People’s reactions range from panic to apathy (me) at the news of Elon Musk taking over Twitter.

I think he’s a little unwise for paying $44 billion when he could’ve gotten it for $4.99 in the app store as I did, but whatever. 💁

I sat over here seeing the publishing date for this article. I debated whether I wanted to join the Twitter conversation or not.

We ended up publishing anyway.

I love Twitter. It’s a great place for my content, to learn, and appeals to the shorter attention spans of my audience. (If you haven’t already, you should follow me and see more cool content.)

Now Twitter gets ignored by a lot of brands—most people are deterred by the lifespan of a Tweet averaging 15–18 minutes. (Lasts longer than your bf—can’t relate though.)

This little birdy app is the home of celebrities, adult content creators, government officials, and us—the brands.

So what ARE brands doing on Twitter? Well, as a “brand on Twitter”, let me tell you and give insights into my Twitter analytics! Let’s get into it!

Wait — you can use Twitter for marketing?

Twitter allows the promotion of brands, companies, and services by creating content and publishing it to Twitter followers and other users.

It disperses the content to targeted audiences and builds the interest of the community. Using paid ads on Twitter is a great way to reach your audience in a more direct way rather than waiting for organic reach. Promoted Tweets can expand your reach more quickly and get more engagement with your content.

Ok, I want to start using Twitter. What do I do?

Twitter is very helpful for beginners. Beginners can advertise their brand through their tweets on Twitter. They tweet related to their brands and in this way they help their audiences to reach their brand.

The following are some important tips for beginners:

1- Make your profile public

2- Use different content offerings—read more about content creation.

3- Create a content strategy

4- Always build your Twitter community—learn to use the EFCN method

5- Tweet every day—discover social media tools to make content easier.

6- Don’t tweet too much—For my audience, the cadence of eight times per day earned me a five percent engagement rate, while ten made it dip to three percent and 1–7 per day all weren’t, creating an audience at the rate I wanted it to.

7- Share relevant content—People are only going to follow you if you talk about a topic they enjoy on a consistent basis.

8- Be expressive in your Tweet content—Have a personality on Twitter or no one is going to want to follow you.

The best time to Tweet

The time for a Tweet depends upon your personal location, audience, and strategy. In all cases where you are facing questions about your brand, product, or service, then for your audience, you should provide a tweet to resolve their problem.

Audience loyalty on Twitter:

Retweeting, interacting, and the following shows value to your audience by creating a one-to-one feel in each interaction.

In this way, Twitter builds loyalty with customers. Twitter sorts users by the gender they report. It is a platform that makes it easy for customers to reach out to the brand. Build your community of engaged and loyal followers.

It engages your audience and makes them loyal to the brand. Your brand can use this opportunity to collect feedback and provide support.

Creating loyalty on Twitter

Twitter builds loyalty with your audience. There are four ways to engage on Twitter: retweet, follow, interact, and use hashtags to connect with fans.

Retweet

When you retweet the content of your customers then it shows you value them. They become happy and they become willing to buy your product. So, a retweet strategy builds loyalty among customers and a brand.

Follow

When you are following your audience and then posting about your product, then it engages your audience towards your brand. It develops loyalty.

Interact

When you interact with your customers and engage them for your service, it develops loyal behavior and attracts an audience toward your brand.

Use hashtags to connect with fans

The best hashtags always attract customers. It increases customer retention and improves loyalty. Make sure your hashtags are short and that they’re unused.

Video Retention Data and Watched Minutes

To be fair, I had a good day today. We can see from the metrics above that even though Twitter has a short lifespan for content, it still gets major impressions.

From suggested Tweets, topic and hashtag grouping, and discovery features. Twitter, like all platforms, wants to keep its users, using it.

Twitter Tools

I already mentioned blackmagic.so and minter.io but there are a few other tools I’m using to help make my Twitter better for my audience.

Canva

I love Canva more every day. It’s my go-to design tool for promoting blogs these days and scheduling my personal social media posts. Back off Photoshop, I’m a beginner—that’s the designer’s job.

Hypefury

I’m a distractible squirrel. So Twitter and I get along, but sporadic Tweet storms do not make an audience. So Hypefury helps me schedule Tweets (and now Threads) for the week in about an hour.

I use the Standard plan and found I didn’t need the Premium features.

Blackmagic.so

Blackmagic, put simply, makes Twitter more focused on networking. It helps you stop scrolling by focusing on your timeline. Blackmagic will help you keep track of accounts, scheduling replies, and giving reminders to engage.

Minter.io

Minter is for analytics. Twitter won’t show you audience demographic data, which can help you connect more personally with your audience. So Minter fills in the gap here. It’ll also show you the best times to post which Twitter still hasn’t added to their capability list (for some reason?) yet.

Birdy.so

I just discovered Birdy on Medium the other day, but I love, love love it. Birdy will change my bio to split test different elements. Now, if you’re new here, split testing is kinda my thing, sooo…

TL;DR — Conclusion:

From our discussion, we see that Twitter is a great platform to promote your brand and your service. It builds loyalty among customers and brands quickly and effectively.

There are many ways to make your Twitter successful, including creating content with a strategy, engaging with your audience, and being authentic.

Using tools like Hypefury, birdy.so, and Blackmagic will turn your Twitter from a scrollable distraction into a powerful business tool that’ll take your brand far.
